Cheating at Blackjack

Cheating at blackjack and other casino games is a tempting proposition for players desperate to turn the edge in their direction, but cheating is never acceptable. Cheating is cause for serious repercussions in both online and land based casinos.

Counting Cards

Counting cards is the most common way for black jack players to try and cheat. This tactic involves carefully counting the cards that have been played in each hand to try and determine which cards are still in the deck. This is unacceptable in online and land based blackjack games. Casinos have made this tactic nearly impossible in many situations by using multiple decks of cards. Online casinos even shuffle the entire deck after every hand.

Other Forms of Cheating

Cheating at blackjack has been attempted in many different ways. One method is card switching. This involves using slight of hand to switch your own cards with the casino’s. Another way players try cheating at blackjack is by marking the back of the cards so they can identify what’s in the dealer’s hand later in the game. Both methods are extremely dangerous with the high level of security present in most casinos. Naturally, these forms of cheating do not apply to online casinos where the players don’t have access to actual cards.

The best practice in any type of casino setting is to accept that the house will always have an edge and simply play by the rules. Cheating can get you kicked out of not only that casino, but others as well. In some instances, cheating can be prosecuted by the law.
